What We’re Looking For
- Management experience required
- 5+ years of experience as a service technician
- Prior service management experience strongly preferred
- Specialized training in gas/diesel maintenance and repair
- Strong computer skills; experience with business systems a plus
- A natural leader who communicates clearly, solves problems quickly, and holds high standards
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and be on your feet for at least 50% of the workday
- This job is based in the Brea, CA home office.
Essential Functions
What You’ll Do
You’ll be the driving force behind our service department — managing technicians, shop foremen, service writers, and drivers across multiple locations. From daily stand-ups to long-range planning, your leadership keeps the shop efficient, the customers happy, and the equipment field-ready.
Your key areas of ownership include:
- Leading & developing your team — recruiting, training, certifying, and evaluating technicians while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement
- Scheduling & workflow — optimizing repair schedules, driver routes, and field tech assignments across all service locations
- Quality control — ensuring every repair and new equipment setup meets Toro PDI standards and leaves the shop right the first time
- Warranty management — overseeing Toro PRW, allied warranty processing, reconciliations, and RGA submissions
- Customer relationships — serving as a trusted point of contact for warranty and repair issues, with on-site visits when needed
- Business performance — tracking labor productivity, profitability, and billing accuracy using SX.e, SWES, and internal reporting tools
- Cross-functional collaboration — partnering with sales on demos, ride-alongs, and customer site visits; supporting company-wide service initiatives
