The power head's 15-degree universal pivot allows it to swivel in all directions independent of the traction unit's orientation, so the auger bores straight down regardless of how the machine itself is sitting on the terrain. The side-to-side swing includes a lockout in the centered position for situations where a fixed, straight-down bore is what's needed instead — giving the operator control over when the swivel function is active.

At the core of the unit is a direct planetary gear drive, a design choice that delivers both high rotational speed and maximum torque to the auger while keeping stress on the head components to a minimum — a combination that's difficult to achieve with simpler drive designs and one that directly extends the service life of the hydraulic motor. The high-speed drive spins bits up to 86 rpm while still delivering 960 ft-lb of torque at 3,000 psi, letting contractors move through hole after hole quickly without losing the power needed to push through tougher ground conditions. The frame is fabricated, welded steel construction, and the unit mounts to the Dingo's quick-attach plate with dripless, flush-face quick couplers for fast, clean connect and disconnect between jobs.
