Robust front end loaders are staples in the toolbelts of landscape contractors, construction teams, and even some golf crews. The ability to reliably move large amounts of material is one of the most critical functions within those job fields.

What is a Front End Loader?

A front end loader, also known as wheel loader, is a piece of equipment designed specifically to carry heavy loads of solid materials. These loaders are more efficient than skid steers due to their larger size.

Benefits of a Compact Wheel Loader

Like their standard-sized counterparts, compact wheel loaders come in all shapes and sizes from the massive front end loaders you see on construction sites all the way down to a skid steer with a bucket attachment. This wide range offers a high level of versatility to tackle nearly any job.

One of the primary benefits of using a compact wheel loader is the small frame that the loader comes in. With a more compact frame and lighter footprint, these loaders can more easily navigate tighter work areas and reach areas that a standard-sized wheel loader couldn’t. They also offer less turf and ground disturbance as a natural byproduct of their compact size.

GiANT Compact Front End Loader

One of our favorite front end wheel loader manufacturers is Tobroco-GiANT. GiANT Wheel Loaders built a name for themselves with their amazing ability to lift outstanding weight while remaining extremely compact.

Ranging in size from skid loader to the G5000 series, GiANT has a loader in their lineup suited for almost any need.

GiANT Features

GiANT has gone to great lengths to develop various front end loaders that are extremely strong and perfectly practical. This is apparent through the many features that they pack into their loaders. Let’s take a look starting with different strength options.

Different Strength Options

Nearly every size GiANT comes with multiple configurations so that operators can pick the loader that best suits their needs. Various configurations allow for additional strength at the cost of reduced lift for operators that need more power. Inversely, for operators that may need a longer reach and not as much strength, GiANT has a model for that too.

Telescoping

For those operators that may need a lot of reach such as arborists, many GiANTs have a TELE model. These TELE models have telescoping arms that give operators increased access to hard-to-reach places.

TELE models are available for the G1200, G2700, G3500, and G5000 lines.

Articulating & Oscillating

GiANT wheel loaders come built with articulating and oscillating frames to help maximize navigation and minimize turf damage. Additionally, GiANT wheel loaders are designed with a rear-located operating platform giving operators a clear line of sight. This combination of flexibility and visibility enhances the compact frame to help keep a GiANT front end loader highly maneuverable.

Attachments

GiANT’s universal attachment plate allows for nearly universal attachment options. With a non-proprietary approach, you can now use your favorite attachments with nearly any GiANT front end loader.

Here’s what GiANT has to say about their attachment options on their website:

All Giant machines always come with an industry-standard attachment plate. This makes it very easy to use any attachments that you may already have! As well, any attachment specialist will be able to supply you with attachments, which makes your attachment options to choose from virtually unlimited. Next to that we offer a wide variety of Giant-branded custom ordered specialty attachments. With this “non-proprietary” attachment approach Giant offers you many options to maximize your investment. It has never been easier to get into a Giant!
